Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd, known for playing David Platt, has revealed he had a cyst the size of a 'golf ball' removed from his neck. The 38-year-old discussed the procedure on his podcast 'On The Sofa' with co-stars Ben Price and Colson Smith.
Shepherd explained that he initially thought the lump was an ingrown hair but sought medical advice when it didn't disappear. A doctor diagnosed a cyst and arranged to remove it the following day. The actor said the doctor advised him not to watch the procedure, but he caught a reflection in a clock on the wall.
Describing the moment the cyst was extracted, Shepherd said: 'When he pulled it out it was massive!' Ben Price commented that it looked 'like something from another planet.' The trio had previously referred to the lump as a 'golf ball' on their podcast.
Earlier this year, Shepherd and his wife Hanni Treweek announced they are expecting their first child together. Shepherd also has two children, Nyla and Reuben, from his previous relationship with Lauren Shippey.
