Coronation Street's Jodie Ramsey is on the verge of being exposed by David Platt, as spoilers reveal the truth about her mysterious behaviour is finally coming to light. The character, played by Olivia Frances Brown, arrived in Weatherfield as Shona Platt's long-lost sister and has been causing confusion among viewers with her erratic actions.
Since her debut, Jodie has been seen stealing items from neighbours and keeping them in a trinket box, impersonating her niece's mother at the hospital, and attempting to seduce David. More recently, she began a relationship with Daniel Osbourne, who had just discovered his ex-girlfriend Megan was behind the anonymous 'Truthteller' online rumours.
In upcoming scenes, David accuses Jodie of stealing Harper's five-month milestone card, leading to a confrontation. Shona is devastated when they miss the baby's photo shoot at the hospital, and David points the finger at Jodie.
Viewers have expressed frustration over Jodie's storyline, with many taking to social media to question her motives. One fan wrote: 'Can someone explain the point of this character to me? Nearly half a year on the show and all she’s done is cause bits of trouble for random characters with no real motive.'
Another added: 'Oh f*** off Jodie, David has never been interested in you, you twisted f***!' The backlash has been mounting, with some fans calling for a return to the show's original premise.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX.
