Coronation Street fans believe Maggie Driscoll's fate is sealed after a tense showdown with Megan Walsh. The matriarch, played by Pauline McLynn, has been at the centre of dramatic storylines since her arrival, including revelations that she killed her husband Alan and had an affair with Jim McDonald.
In Thursday's episode, Maggie confronted Megan, who had recorded a conversation confirming Maggie's past crimes. The episode ended with Maggie following Megan down stairs and slamming a door, leading to speculation about who will die during the soap's Murder Week.
Actress Pauline McLynn revealed that she was told early on that the plan was to kill off Maggie. She teased that viewers might assume Maggie is the victim but warned, 'Assume nothing. You might be being fed one thing which is true, but it could be more than one.'
The flashforward earlier this year hinted that either Maggie or Megan, or another character, would be killed. Fans have taken to social media to share theories, with one suggesting a tussle could lead to Maggie's death and another predicting Megan might be framed for murder.
