Alan Townsend, a builder featured on the Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm, has opened up about his 'very painful' heart surgery in the latest season of the show. The emotional reunion with Jeremy Clarkson aired in the fourth episode of season five, which launched on June 3.
Townsend, who returned to the programme after a health scare, described his condition to Clarkson. 'One [artery] had collapsed and curled itself up, and the others were about 85-90 percent blocked,' he said. He also revealed he lost 36% of his lung function.
The pair discussed being neighbours in hospital, as Clarkson underwent tests on his heart following his own medical emergency that required urgent surgery. Clarkson was later advised by doctors to overhaul his diet and rest for six weeks, but failed to heed the advice, including travelling to London for a farmers' rally.
Season five of Clarkson's Farm is being released in three parts. The first four episodes are available now, with two more dropping on June 10 and the final two on June 17.
