Britney Spears has returned to her $9.8 million, 21-acre mansion in Thousand Oaks, where she posted one of her signature provocative dance videos. This comes just four days after she left a treatment center, having completed 21 days of a planned 30-day rehab stint.
Dance Video and Social Media
The 44-year-old pop star wore a plunging, silver sparkly mini-dress over a brown bra, paired with black pumps that matched her choker. In the video, she flips her hair and grabs at her chest, captioning it with a simple red rose emoji. Spears boasts 153.5 million social media followers.
Recovery and Legal Situation
According to TMZ, the retired singer is now 'happy, healthy and centered' after becoming 'clean and sober.' However, she faces legal proceedings following her March 4 DUI arrest. Spears is scheduled for arraignment in Ventura County Court on Monday, though she is reportedly not required to attend.
Documents obtained by Daily Mail reveal that the Ventura County District Attorney's Office formally charged Spears with misdemeanor DUI last Thursday. She was allegedly caught driving erratically at high speed. The criminal complaint did not specify the type of drug involved.
Prosecutors are likely to offer Spears a lesser charge of 'wet reckless' (reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs) given her completion of three weeks in rehab. She may face 12 months of probation, fees, and a DUI class.
Support from Family
Spears' manager, Cade Hudson, previously called her arrest 'an unfortunate incident' that was 'completely inexcusable.' He stated, 'Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law... Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs.' Both of her sons, Jayden James Federline (19) and Sean Preston Federline (20), have encouraged her recovery.
Future Projects
Last October, Spears announced plans to launch her jewelry brand B. Tiny and an 'extremely wicked' oil scent. Additionally, director Jon M. Chu is developing a fully-authorized biopic based on her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me for Universal Pictures.
Spears, who still has 47.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, began her career at age 11 as a Mouseketeer on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1992 to 1994.
