Brazilian Football Chief Accused of Misusing Funds for Mistress

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President Samir Xaud, 42, is facing allegations that he used federation funds to fly his mistress to New York ahead of the World Cup, before meeting his wife at the opening ceremony in Mexico City. The claims were published by Brazilian outlet Portal Leo Dias, which reported that fitness influencer Camila Cristina Andrade spent eight days at Manhattan’s Hyatt Regency Grand Central, a stay allegedly booked under Xaud’s name. The hotel cost approximately $11,500 (£8,750).

Alleged Details of the Trip

According to the report, Xaud and Andrade were photographed dining at Harry Cipriani on June 3 before leaving in a vehicle also allegedly rented by the federation. Xaud then quickly left New York to travel to Mexico's match against South Africa, where he reunited with his wife of more than 20 years, Natalia Xaud, with whom he shares three children.

The outlet also claimed that this is not the first time Xaud has used federation funds to fly influencers abroad. In December 2025, he allegedly sent model and influencer Tamares Fernandes Barcellos to Qatar for a FIFA Intercontinental World Cup match.

CBF's Response

The CBF responded swiftly to the allegations. In a statement to Radio Itatiaia, the organization said: “The CBF rejects the information regarding the alleged misuse of the entity’s funds published today by the Léo Dias portal. Expenses incurred by the entity are exclusively linked to the CBF’s institutional activities, and personal expenses of its directors are covered by themselves. The current CBF administration is based on the pillars of transparency, administrative responsibility, and a commitment to integrity. The CBF reiterates that it remains available for any further clarification.”

According to online news outlet Infobae, Xaud paid his New York hotel charges shortly after being contacted by Portal Leo Dias.
