Bradley Walsh found himself on the receiving end of a playful scolding during Friday's episode of Breaking Dad after an awkward yet hilarious driving blunder. The 65-year-old presenter and his son Barney, 28, are currently exploring Australia in the seventh season of their popular ITV show.
Unintended Detour onto the Race Track
In the episode, the duo visited Brisbane's Albion Park Harness Racing Club. However, while driving to the venue, Bradley inadvertently steered their RV onto the horse race track in the middle of a harness race. Competitors had to overtake the vehicle, leaving Barney mortified.
As they entered the venue, Barney panicked, asking, "Where are you going?" Bradley sarcastically replied, "What do you mean where am I going? What's it look like I'm going?" Barney pointed out, "I don't think we're supposed to be on this bit. I think we're on the racetrack right now."
A confused Bradley responded, "Eh? Well it said all vehicles this way," to which Barney retorted, "You've driven onto the track in an RV." Bradley insisted, "You keep telling me that I'm not an idiot. I know where we are!" But Barney snapped, "I think you might be an idiot. We've got horses behind us!"
Horses Overtake the RV
As the horses approached and began overtaking the vehicle, a race commentator exclaimed, "Is that, is that an RV on the course? I've never seen this before in my life!" Seeing the humour, Bradley joked in his own commentary, "And they're coming up on the outside," while a mortified Barney replied, "No, are you joking? Oh this is so embarrassing!"
Bradley added, "Look at that. Beautiful horses. You know who would love this? Your granddad would love this." The Chase host then pretended to whip the RV, saying, "Don't worry about that. I'll catch them in this mate. Come on Bradders!"
Playful Scolding from Staff
After the blunder, the duo met a staff member. Barney worried, "He's gonna have a go at us!" but Bradley reassured him. Apologising, Bradley said, "Alright Jim, sorry about that." Jim jokingly scolded him, "What do you think you're doing? Mate, this is Albion Park Harness Racing Club! This is the metropolitan home and heart of harness racing here in Queensland!"
Bradley replied, "I know. Do you know what? I got carried away, I felt as though I was in the Indy 500," adding, "It's a cracking stadium, Jim."
