Bournemouth have dropped Alex Jimenez from their squad for Saturday's Premier League match at Fulham after launching an investigation into alleged social media exchanges with a 15-year-old girl.
The club confirmed on Friday that the right-back will not feature in the game, stating they are aware of posts circulating online and are treating the matter seriously. Jimenez, who turned 21 on Friday, has made 32 appearances this season and started the last five league matches.
Head coach Andoni Iraola addressed the situation during his pre-match press conference, saying: 'The club has to do their investigations and see what has really happened. We will then move from there. I hope it's not what we think.'
Jimenez joined Bournemouth permanently from AC Milan in February for £17 million, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract after an initial loan spell. He previously spent 10 years at Real Madrid before moving to Italy in 2024.
