BGT Winner Sydnie Christmas Urges Semi Finalists to Block Out Noise
BGT Winner Sydnie Christmas: Block Out the Noise

Sydnie Christmas, the winner of Britain's Got Talent in 2024, has returned to the show and offered crucial advice to this year's semi finalists. She urged contestants to "block out the noise" if they want to succeed and win the series.

Sydnie Christmas Returns to Perform

The 30-year-old singer is back on the BGT stage tonight, performing alongside The Great Ormond Street Choir (GOSH). Reflecting on her own experience, she shared tips for the semi finalists: "Be brave for yourself because you deserve this shot. I'd say block out the noise, the unnecessary noise and just be proud that you're brave enough to be doing what you're doing and just believe in yourself. The more you believe in yourself, the better. You can do it."

Handling Pressure and Nerves

Even after winning the show, Sydnie admitted she still feels nervous before going on stage. She said: "It's amazing and I'm so excited more than anything. But the pressure can be a bit buckling, I just have to breathe and give myself the advice that I'm giving to the other contestants, to just breathe and go, you can do it. Just enjoy every second."

She added: "If I just hone in on enjoying every second and I try to be present, then I end up forgetting the pressure. Because it's very easy to let the pressure completely overtake how you feel."

Staying True to Herself

Sydnie emphasised that despite her success, she remains the same person. "Something amazing happened to me on BGT and I'm so grateful. But I'm still the Sydnie that they fell in love with throughout this journey. And I won't change," she said.

New Music and Friendship with Amanda Holden

The singer has a new single coming out in June and an album scheduled for September. She also revealed she stays in regular contact with judge Amanda Holden, who was her biggest supporter during the competition. "I love Amanda so much. She's such a lovely friend and she's always there. If ever I need her or I need her advice or if I make a song I'll send it to her," Sydnie said.

Britain's Got Talent continues tonight with the live semi final at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
