BBC Breakfast viewers have expressed frustration over the programme's extensive coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, with some saying they are already "sick" of it. The first semi-final is set to take place tonight in Liverpool, and the morning show dedicated a segment to the event, featuring correspondent Colin Patterson live from the Liverpool Arena.
Presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent introduced the segment, with Kay stating that the whole country is "buzzing" about Eurovision. Nugent highlighted Patterson's presence, noting his "fabulous gold jacket." Patterson described the stage as "absolutely huge" and discussed the 15 countries competing for 10 places in the final, mentioning Sweden's Loreen as a potential winner.
However, the coverage drew criticism on social media. User @RichardS_53 tweeted: "Sick to death of the Eurovision coverage. #BBCBreakfast."
