Steve Bannon has reacted with fury to Virginia’s latest redistricting moves, which favor Democrats, attacking conservative complacency and warning his side that after November’s midterms: “We ain’t gonna be in power!” The state’s voters approved a redrawing of its electoral map that could see Democrats gain up to four extra House seats.
Bannon’s War Room Rant
On Wednesday’s episode of his Real America’s Voice show War Room, Bannon insisted the MAGA movement “is still alive and on fire,” but conceded things are “not perfect” and that some administration policies are causing “upset.” He hit out at a culture of “consultant lobbyist crap” that fails to inspire voters.
Pivoting to Virginia, he complained: “We had something that was so fricking winnable. With the people putting Trump on their shoulders and saying, ‘We’re not going to let it happen.’ And of course, the consultant says, ‘Shhh, you don’t want to bring up Trump because we might upset Democrats.’”
Attacks on Spanberger and Consultants
Bannon claimed Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger is “running a color revolution, dude. She’s trained by the CIA!” He said the redistricting would allow Democrats to pick up rural counties, declaring: “The foreign-born deep state folks up there [are] infesting the entire Commonwealth.”
He denounced “conventional politicians” like Glenn Youngkin for delivering “defeat after defeat,” adding: “Now it’s a crushing, now they turned over the whole frickin’ state. It’ll take us a decade to dig out of this.”
Bannon claimed Revolutionary War soldiers would be “disgusted and revolted by the scum of this consulting class,” lambasting them for anxiety about losing the Senate. “You’re damn right, you’re going to lose the Senate because you’ve given nothing for people to work for!”
Defending Trump
When guest Raheem Kassam suggested Trump bore some blame, Bannon responded: “I don’t hold the president culpable. Good god man, he’s fighting wars, he’s trying to bring world peace, he’s trying to turn the economy… The whole weight of the world’s on his shoulders.”
He warned: “Right now, folks, take your number two pencil and write this down: We ain’t going to be in power!”
