Britain's Got Talent was thrown into chaos on Saturday night when an audience member was dragged out of the live show and arrested by police. The incident occurred during the semi-final broadcast from The Hammersmith Apollo in West London.
According to reports, security teams removed a screaming woman from the venue. She was held outside before being handcuffed and taken away in a police van. The Metropolitan Police and ITV have been contacted for comment.
The drama followed a turbulent I'm A Celebrity...South Africa final earlier that evening, which saw contestants Gemma Collins and Sinitta walk off stage amid a heated row. Singer Alexandra Burke, who was outside the theatre for a photoshoot ahead of her performance, was reportedly rushed inside for safety.
The evening also saw a tense moment between host Declan Donnelly and head judge Simon Cowell. When Dec tried to move on from judges' feedback for magician Fraser Penman, Simon snapped, 'I'm still talking!' Fans criticised Cowell on social media, with one calling his remark rude and another saying, 'I think Ant and Dec have had enough attitude for this weekend.'
Burke, winner of The X Factor in 2008, was promoting her role in the musical I'm Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical. Britain's Got Talent live shows continue Saturdays at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
