Ashley Cain's Heartbreaking Tribute 5 Years After Daughter's Funeral
Ashley Cain's Heartbreaking Tribute 5 Years On from Daughter's Funeral

Ashley Cain has shared a heartbreaking message to mark five years since the funeral of his daughter, Azaylia, who died at eight months old from leukaemia. The reality TV star posted on Instagram alongside solemn images from the funeral, admitting he "still can't seem to accept" her passing.

A Father's Grief

In his post, Cain wrote: "Today I cried for the first time in a long time. As soon as I turned into the cemetery and saw her resting place, I couldn't control the emotions that had obviously built up inside me." He added that he cannot believe it has been five years since they laid her to rest, and he still struggles to accept it. However, he described his time spent with her as "peaceful" and "beautiful," a moment where time stood still as he reminisced about every moment he was privileged to share with her.

Cain concluded: "May you continue to rest in eternal paradise my princess, and until we meet again I will love you with the entirety of my heart, forever and always." He signed off with his usual orange love heart emoji, representing his daughter's legacy.

Outpouring of Support

The post was met with an outpouring of support from friends and followers. Kerry Katona's partner, Paolo Margaglione, commented: "Can't even begin to imagine the pain you've felt in your soul my brother, seeing the strength you've shown, along with the lives you've changed and helped is something not many people could have ever done. I know your daughter will be up there looking down, proud as anything saying - That's my daddy right there. Sending love." Ryan Thomas shared a love heart and praying hands emoji, while former boxer Tony Bellew liked the post.

Keeping Azaylia's Memory Alive

Since Azaylia's death in April 2021, Ashley Cain has dedicated himself to honouring her memory. He and his then-partner, Safiyya Vorajee, had raised £1.5 million to fly her to Singapore for specialist treatment, but she ultimately lost her battle with leukaemia. Cain later launched The Azaylia Foundation, which supports families fighting childhood cancer. He has also welcomed a baby boy, Aliyas, with a new partner.
