Arsenal parade sees 75 rescued from heights and 16 arrests

Emergency services rescued approximately 75 people from precarious heights and made 16 arrests during Arsenal's Premier League trophy parade in London on Sunday. Thousands of fans lined the streets around the Emirates Stadium, with some climbing trees, rooftops, and traffic lights for a better view.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed crews rescued about 75 individuals from elevated positions. They also attended a hotel fire believed to have been caused by a stray flare. Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne said the fire caused only minor exterior damage and urged fans to avoid using pyrotechnics.

The Metropolitan Police reported 16 arrests by 9pm on Sunday, including charges for drunk and disorderly behaviour, drugs offences, sexual assault, and assaulting emergency workers. Officers also responded to a stabbing on Hornsey Road at 8.30pm, with a man taken to hospital.

More than 500 officers were deployed for the event. As evening fell, north London streets remained filled with Arsenal fans, with debris including cans and bottles littering the area. Crowds continued to chant and sing as they headed to Tube stations.
