Anne Hathaway, 42, has ignited fresh plastic surgery rumours after her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night. The actress showcased a notably smooth complexion while attending the fashion event in New York, prompting a flurry of online commentary.
In an interview with Vogue on the blue carpet, Hathaway discussed the influence of the late André Leon Talley and her latest favourite meal. However, many viewers focused on her youthful look, with one Instagram user commenting: 'Whoa she really got some obvious work done on her upper face. Maybe brow lift.' Another added: 'Jaw, ponytail lift, and brow lift it seems!'
While some fans praised her appearance, others suspected cosmetic enhancements. One wrote: 'When is he gonna ask “who is your surgeon?” I’d like to know how much $$ I need to rob for an appointment.' Another noted: 'Did she have anything done to her face? She looks younger. Absolutely gorgeous.'
Hathaway has faced similar speculation in the past. In 2023, plastic surgeon Dr Gary Motykie told DailyMail.com he had 'no doubt she had surgery on her nose' and suspected the use of fillers, Botox, and skin tightening procedures. The actress denied having surgery in 2008, though she admitted to wanting a nose job as a child.
Hathaway's appearance at New York Fashion Week last month also drew attention for her youthful look, with some fans joking she is 'on track to be a baby by 2045.'
