Photographs released by the US Justice Department appear to show how Prince Andrew facilitated Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's access to British high society. The images include Epstein and Maxwell hunting with the former prince at Balmoral and joining him in the royal box at Ascot.
One photo shows Andrew reclining across five people at Sandringham, with Maxwell smiling down at him. Another image, believed to be from 2002, shows Maxwell posing in Winston Churchill's war rooms alongside Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey.
The release of hundreds of documents from the Epstein files came after the Epstein Files Transparency Act required the Justice Department to make them public. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said thousands more documents would be released in coming weeks to protect victims' identities.
Andrew's relationship with Epstein led to his exit from royal life after a disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019. He later settled a lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was trafficked by Epstein and sexually assaulted by Andrew. The King stripped Andrew of his royal titles in October.
