Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has shared the heartbreaking news of her close friend's death following a brain blood clot. The dancer took to Instagram to post a poignant tribute, revealing that she received a devastating call from her friend's mother.
Amy Dowden's Emotional Tribute
Amy posted a series of images of herself with her friend Bex, accompanied by a lengthy statement. She wrote: “I’ve been a little quiet. On Friday, I got a call from my darling friend Bex’s mum, Anne, to tell me that Bex had a blood clot on her brain.”
She continued: “I still can’t quite find the words or make sense of it. How something like this can happen to someone so fit, so healthy, so kind… a truly good soul.”
Remembering a Kind Soul
Amy described Bex as the kindest person, always putting others first. She noted that even in death, Bex was giving, having been an organ donor. “She had just given birth to her perfect baby boy the day before, completing her beautiful family with her little girl and her true love, Sean,” Amy added.
The dancer fondly recalled their shared memories, including being roommates at Blackpool, sharing secrets during Amy's hen do, and Bex's support during Amy's chemotherapy. “What I loved most were our random, overdue phone catch-ups, where I always knew I’d never be judged, only supported and understood,” she wrote.
A Heartfelt Promise
Amy ended her tribute with a vow: “Bex, I’ll keep you close always. I promise to look out for your darling mum, dad, Sean, and your beautiful babies. Love you dearly, my angel.”
The post has drawn an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities. This is a breaking showbiz story and will be updated as more details emerge.
