Channel 5 has confirmed that its new drama The Fortune will premiere on June 2, bringing together two stars from All Creatures Great and Small alongside a Poldark favourite.
The series features Callum Woodhouse, best known as Tristan Farnon in All Creatures, and Matthew Lewis, who played Hugh Hulton in the same show, with Eleanor Tomlinson of Poldark fame taking the lead role.
Eleanor Tomlinson plays Amanda Blakefield, a woman whose happy life is turned upside down when she inherits a fortune from a stranger. The inheritance drags her into the mysterious world of the Worrall family, headed by patriarch Martin Worrall, played by Denis Lawson.
The cast also includes Rebecca Front as Martin's wife Fiona, Callum Woodhouse as his son Anthony, and Stephen Tompkinson, Paula Wilcox, Danielle Walters, and Nina Wadia in supporting roles.
Channel 5 describes the show as a gripping psychological drama that explores family secrets and the cost of unexpected luck. The broadcaster shared a promotional image with the tagline: 'When there's a will, there's a war.'
