Actress Alice Evans has said she was not invited to her father David's funeral, describing herself as "a mess" in a heartfelt Instagram post. The 57-year-old revealed that her father was cremated on Friday, but none of his children were invited to the service. Speeches were instead made by extended family and friends.
Evans shared the news while honouring her brother Tony on what would have been his 56th birthday. Tony died six months before their father's death in March. She wrote: "Bro... I came here to wish you your first heavenly birthday. I've spent hours looking at pictures... I miss you so much!"
The actress said she was glad her brother did not have to witness the exclusion from their father's funeral, adding: "You are the most empathetic person I have ever met and that would have finished you." She urged followers to be kind, stating: "Grief sucks. Early loss sucks. We need to be nice to each other."
Evans later paid tribute to her father, noting the wisdom he passed on which she now shares with her daughters, Ella and Elsie, from her marriage to Ioan Gruffudd. The couple split in 2021 after meeting on the set of 102 Dalmatians.
The news comes amid a bitter legal battle with Gruffudd, who has since moved on with Bianca Wallace. A judge recently renewed a domestic restraining order against Evans for a further five years, noting she had violated the original terms "multiple times". The order is now in place until at least 2031.
