A money-saving expert has revealed a hidden code on Aldi price tags that can help shoppers identify products about to be discontinued. Jordan Cox, known as Britain's Coupon Kid on Instagram, urged customers to look for a 'D' symbol in the top right corner of price labels.
According to Cox, the 'D' indicates that the item will not be restocked once it sells out. This often applies to Specialbuys and limited-time offers, but can also appear on other products in the store.
In a social media post, he said: 'If you see a 'D' in the top right corner, that item's being discontinued. So when the shelf is cleared, they won't be restocking!' He added that the hack could save money or turn shopping into a game.
The tip has sparked mixed reactions among shoppers. Some expressed frustration at not knowing earlier, with one Instagram user, Sarah Golding-Keanne, commenting: 'I wish I knew that yesterday.' Another shopper, Dorothy, lamented: 'Ohhh I wish I knew this before they discontinued the rocky road bites.'
However, some customers claimed they were already aware of the code. One shopper, Steven, simply wrote: 'It's not a secret!'
