Akon and Ne-Yo are currently on their joint 'Nights Like This' world tour, with sold-out shows across the UK. However, fans at the O2 Arena in London on May 8 were left baffled when Akon's performance took an unusual turn.
Footage circulating on TikTok shows Akon soaking the crowd with water from a bottle before throwing it into the audience, hitting a fan named Danielle's camera. 'My £140 throwing water at me then assaulting me with a bottle,' Danielle joked in her video.
Another fan, Kerry, who attended the Dublin show, shared a video of the singer stage-diving inside an inflatable human hamster ball. The zorb ball ended up on top of Kerry, leading her to comment: 'Nearly had to put death by Akon on my tombstone.' Despite this, she rated the concert a '10/10 experience'.
Social media users found the videos hilarious, with one commenting: 'I love how EVERYONE is having a bad time.' Another said: 'Imagine the crowd just never returned him to the stage.'
The tour continues with dates in Manchester, Birmingham, and more London shows at The O2 until May 14, 2026.
