David Haye has responded to Adam Thomas's claims about their time on I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, accusing the actor of playing the victim. The boxer posted a video on social media in which he criticised Thomas and his brothers for 'b***hing and whining' after the Waterloo Road star spoke out about Haye's behaviour on the spin-off series.
Adam Thomas, who won the show, had admitted on his podcast that the experience left him feeling 'dead inside' and claimed Haye's conduct 'broke' him. He also shared that Haye sent him a congratulatory voice note after the final, to which Thomas replied that he was 'done' with him.
In his response, Haye said he listened to Thomas's podcast and described it as 'enlightening'. He claimed Thomas 'dished out banter' but could not take it when Haye gave it back, adding that the actor 'spun it so he's still the victim'. Haye also suggested that Thomas lacked mental resilience and that 'real men' handle jibes.
The former world champion criticised modern society for rewarding weakness, stating he was only interested in the 15-20% of people who agree with him. He hinted that more information would come to light that would contradict Thomas's version of events, saying he looked forward to it.
The dispute began after Thomas's outburst at Jimmy Bullard during the live final, which Haye heckled from the audience. Since then, the pair have exchanged public criticisms, with Thomas claiming the experience has 'tarnished' the show for him and his family.
