Adam Thomas has expressed regret over his furious reaction to Jimmy Bullard's decision to quit a trial on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! after the former footballer became the latest star to leave the show. The soap actor was left questioning his outburst during the Rancid Run challenge, which saw him direct an expletive-laden tirade at his friend and campmate.
The trial required pairs to retrieve cogs from an abacus and run to place them on a box, with the last pair facing eviction. As the challenge began, Bullard, 47, told hosts Ant and Dec: "Boys, I don't think I have got it in me." He then apologised to Thomas but declined to take part, prompting Thomas to respond angrily, including calling Bullard a "p***k" and saying, "Don't go home on my f**king watch." Bullard described the outburst as "pathetic."
Thomas was later seen in tears, worried that he had let his children down by appearing to quit. He was comforted by fellow campmate Scarlett Moffatt, who told him to "calm yourself down" and go out with grace. However, because Bullard did not attempt the trial, Ant and Dec allowed the remaining campmates to decide whether Thomas should stay, and they voted for him to remain.
Bullard, who left without a formal exit interview, said he felt he had let Thomas down but explained he was on "a different journey" and wanted to win. The former footballer also mentioned that his father was unwell at home. He maintained that the experience had become increasingly difficult for him.
Thomas later admitted he regretted some of his actions and worried about the impact on his family. The pair have reportedly not fully reconciled, and Bullard is not currently expected to attend Friday's live final. The incident was filmed last September.
