The moment was particularly poignant as it reportedly marked Driver's final day of filming on the series. Off-screen, Dunham has been dating musician Jack Antonoff since 2012, while Driver has been married to Joanne Tucker since 2013.
The final season picks up after the April 17 finale, where Adam was in a turbulent relationship with Hannah's best friend Jessa, played by Jemima Kirke, and Hannah had ended her relationship with fellow educator Fran, played by Jake Lacy. The season is set to premiere early next year.
