In a recent Fox News interview, former President Donald Trump made a bold assertion that his popularity among Americans has reached an all-time high. However, this claim stands in stark contrast to a series of recent polls that indicate significant disapproval from voters across the nation.
Polling Data Reveals Widespread Disapproval
During the interview, Trump referenced a CNN poll that showed 100 per cent approval within the 'MAGA' faction of the Republican Party. Yet, he dismissed Fox News polls, which painted a very different picture. According to a Fox News survey, Trump faces a 59 per cent disapproval rating for his overall performance, and his approval among Republicans has dropped to a record low of 84 per cent, down from 92 per cent the previous month.
Other Polls Confirm Negative Trends
Additional polling data further undermines Trump's claims. A Reuters poll placed his approval rating at just 36 per cent, while an Associated Press/NORC poll found that 60 per cent of Americans believe the war against Iran has gone too far. Voters expressed strong disapproval of his foreign policy, with 62 per cent disapproving of his handling of foreign affairs and 64 per cent specifically disapproving of his Iran policy.
These findings highlight a significant gap between Trump's self-assessment and the views of the broader electorate, suggesting that his popularity may not be as robust as he claims.
