French Open 2026: Draw Date, Seeds, Wildcards and Entry List

The French Open is set to begin on Sunday, with the clay-court season culminating at Roland-Garros. The draw for the tournament will take place on Thursday 21 May at 2pm local time (1pm UK time).

In the men's draw, Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to win his first French Open title and complete the career Grand Slam. He arrives in Paris after a historic season in which he became only the second man, and the youngest, to win all nine Masters 1000 titles. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is absent due to a wrist injury, leaving Novak Djokovic as Sinner's main rival, motivated to claim a record 25th major title.

The women's draw is wide open, with defending champion Coco Gauff, Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, four-time Roland-Garros champion Iga Swiatek, and Elina Svitolina, who recently won her biggest title in eight years on clay in Rome, all among the contenders. The top 32 in the WTA rankings are set to compete.

Notable absentees include Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Musetti, Holger Rune, Jack Draper, and Arthur Fils due to injuries. Former champion Stan Wawrinka has received a place in the main draw, replacing Musetti. In the women's draw, Marketa Vondrousova is not playing after being charged with refusing a doping control test, while Britain's Sonay Kartal is out for the remainder of the clay season with a back injury.
