ITV has rejected claims of favouritism towards Adam Thomas following a chaotic live final of I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, where former footballer Jimmy Bullard accused the Emmerdale star of abusive behaviour.
Bullard alleged that ITV cut footage of Thomas hurling abuse, including 'C-bombs', during the pre-recorded series. Boxer David Haye also claimed the show was edited to make Thomas look like a victim. Thomas later said he took 'full responsibility' for his actions but would not be brought down by those who 'try to dim your light'.
An ITV spokesperson told The Independent: 'We showed an accurate and fair representation of events. Suggesting ITV favours anyone is an incorrect and harmful accusation.' Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly defended the editing, stating the 'C-bomb' was cut as it was 'unbroadcastable'.
The row erupted during the live final when Bullard confronted Thomas, leading fellow campmates Sinitta and Gemma Collins to walk off set. Thomas's wife Caroline Daly condemned the 'vile display' on social media.
