White House Press Secretary's Spotify Wrapped Reveals Taylor Swift Fandom
White House Aide's Spotify Wrapped Features Trump Critic Swift

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has inadvertently sparked a potential political discord, revealing her personal music tastes publicly clash with those of her boss, President Donald Trump.

A Musical Revelation on Instagram

The 28-year-old aide shared her 2025 Spotify Wrapped summary on Instagram this week. The feature provides users with a personalised review of their annual listening habits, highlighting top artists and songs.

Among Leavitt's most-played artists, sitting at number five, was global pop phenomenon Taylor Swift. The data suggests the Press Secretary has been frequently streaming Swift's latest album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', which was released only in October 2025.

A History of Political and Personal Tension

This musical preference is notable due to the longstanding, very public animosity between Swift and President Trump. Their feud began in 2018 when Swift endorsed Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee.

Trump responded at the time by stating he liked Swift's music '25 percent less'. The conflict escalated when Swift endorsed Democrat Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 election.

The tension flared again last year with Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris for President in the 2024 race. Trump retaliated on his Truth Social platform, declaring he 'hated' the singer. In a June post this year, he added that he 'couldn't stand' the 'Opalite' hitmaker and crudely remarked she was 'no longer hot', praising actress Sydney Sweeney instead.

White House Hypocrisy on Swift's Music?

Despite the President's vocal disdain, his official social media team has repeatedly used Swift's music. The official Team Trump TikTok page recently featured a clip of Melania Trump accepting an award, set to Swift's track 'Opalite'.

Another video compilation used her new song 'Father Figure', showing clips including the President's 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was shot in the ear. This contradiction suggests other Swift fans may be operating within Trump's orbit.

Leavitt's full Spotify Wrapped list was topped by country artist Morgan Wallen, followed by Christian musicians Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake, and Anne Wilson.

The revelation follows Leavitt's recent comments to the Daily Mail, where she admitted having 'PTSD' about making after-work plans due to frequent cancellations caused by foreign policy events.
