Snoop Dogg's Security Team Reportedly Confronts Speed Skating Icon at Winter Olympics

The feel-good atmosphere surrounding Snoop Dogg's honorary coaching role at the Winter Olympics in Milan was reportedly disrupted on Wednesday when his security guards clashed with Dutch speed skating legend Marianne Timmer. The incident occurred as the iconic rapper was being escorted from the packed Milano Speed Skating Stadium after attending the 1,000m event.

Alleged Confrontation in the Stadium Hallway

According to Timmer, who spoke to Dutch outlet Sportnieuws, she was waiting to interview a group of athletes when Snoop Dogg's security detail pushed her against a wall. 'I was standing against a wall, and one of the security guards pushed me even closer,' Timmer recounted. 'I said, "Just act normal", it's a really wide hall, about four metres.'

The situation escalated when the security guard returned and allegedly became confrontational. 'He came back and started acting all up against me,' Timmer stated. 'Then I said something mean back: "I'm not here waiting for Snoop Dogg, I'm waiting for Jennings de Boo. We want to see Joep (Wennermars), we want to talk to Kjeld (Nuis) for a moment".'

Pattern of Aggressive Behavior Alleged

Timmer went further to claim that Snoop Dogg's security team had developed a habit of behaving aggressively throughout the Winter Games. 'We saw a Dutchman being roughly escorted away from the stands by some very large security guards,' she added. 'I could just picture myself being grabbed by the neck and thrown out. That would have been a great story.'

Snoop Dogg's Dual Olympic Roles

The legendary rapper, 54, is in Milan serving as an honorary coach for Team USA, a volunteer position announced by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) in December. Dubbed 'Coach Snoop', his official role involves boosting morale and bringing positive energy to American athletes competing at the Winter Olympics.

Beyond his coaching duties, Snoop Dogg continues to work as a broadcaster for television network NBC, reprising his commentary role from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His involvement with NBC is reportedly highly lucrative, with German outlet BILD claiming an NBC employee revealed he could earn up to £11.78 million ($15 million) across the 2024 Games, including television ratings bonuses.

Embracing the Olympic Experience

Despite the reported security incident, Snoop Dogg has fully embraced his Olympic experience in Milan. He has gone viral multiple times this week while trying his hand at various winter sports, including throwing stones on the curling rink and tackling slopes on a small blue sled. Last week, he carried the Olympic flame in Gallarate and has supported Team USA at numerous events including curling, downhill skiing, and speed skating.

When his honorary coaching role was unveiled in December, Snoop Dogg expressed humility about the position. 'Team USA athletes are the real stars - I'm just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,' he said. 'This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that's a win for me.'

The reported confrontation with Timmer represents a rare negative moment in what has otherwise been a celebratory Olympic appearance for the rapper, whose presence has generated significant media attention and social media buzz throughout the Winter Games.
