Bradley and Barney Walsh paused the latest episode of BBC's Gladiators on Saturday (February 7) to deliver a "special announcement". The father-and-son presenting duo revealed that Legend, one of the show's Gladiators, had suffered a painful injury during training.
Legend, whose real name is Matt Morsia, walked into the arena with his left arm in a sling. He explained: "Unfortunately, I've damaged my bicep tendon and I'm going to be out for a little while. I'll be honest I'm pretty devastated." He added jokingly: "Devastated for you guys because everyone knows you literally only come here to see me."
Legend shared details of the injury on his YouTube channel, saying his left arm was yanked backwards. Initially he felt no pain, but backstage he noticed his bicep had rolled up halfway on his upper arm. A scan confirmed the severity, and surgery was booked five days later. The operation was successful, with doctors reattaching the tendon by drilling a hole in the bone and using an anchor.
Bradley Walsh reassured viewers: "His arm may not work but his mouth still does. Don't worry because he'll be back." Barney Walsh confirmed: "He will. You will see him back in the arena during the series but for now, on with the next event."
