Gemma Collins Stars in DfE Video After Meeting Education Secretary
Gemma Collins DfE Video: Meeting Over Education Reforms

Reality TV star Gemma Collins has appeared in a social media teaser video for the Department for Education (DfE), following her meeting with Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson to discuss education reforms.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 45, was filmed walking through the DfE building with her hands on her hips, demanding to know: “Right, what are we doing to help the children?” The 18-second clip, set to upbeat music, shows Collins entering the building, making a peace sign to the camera as she exits a lift, and striding through the office.

Later in the video, Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson opens a door and invites Collins in, saying: “Come in, let’s have a chat.” The DfE captioned the post: “Gemma Collins is in the building and she’s got questions. Coming soon.”

The DfE confirmed that Collins was not paid for the meeting or for the creation of the social media posts. Former health secretary Wes Streeting retweeted the clip, commenting: “When the GC met BP,” accompanied by a fire emoji.

According to the DfE, Collins left school with minimal qualifications and spoke to Phillipson about how to ensure children in similar situations are not left behind. Their discussion covered V-levels and occupational pathways.

Further material from the meeting is expected to be released across DfE social media channels in the coming days, and Collins will also share content produced by her own team on her personal accounts.
