Djordje Djokovic, the younger brother of tennis star Novak Djokovic, has been forced to leave his home in Dubai after an explosion in the city centre, reportedly caused by an Iranian drone strike. The 30-year-old, who lives with his wife Saska and their young son Aleksandar, fled the apartment near the Burj Khalifa as tensions escalated between Iran and Israel.
The conflict began on Saturday when Israel and the USA launched an attack on Tehran, prompting Iranian retaliation. Several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, were targeted by Iranian strikes, leading to the Djokovic family's decision to evacuate. Serbian publication Telegraf reported that the family is safe but anxious about the ongoing situation.
Djordje Djokovic, a former professional tennis player, retired from competition in 2017. He has since worked as a tournament director for ATP events, including the Serbia Open and the Srpska Open. In 2025, he led the Hellenic Championship in Athens, where his brother Novak won the title.
Djordje married model Saska Veselinov in 2022. The couple welcomed their son Aleksandar two years ago. The family's current whereabouts remain undisclosed as the conflict continues to escalate.
