Since beloved presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from Strictly Come Dancing last year, speculation has been swirling about who will take over the iconic roles on the BBC Saturday night show. Now, The Mirror is inviting readers to have their say in our poll.
Who Could Take the Helm?
BBC bosses have confirmed which professional dancers will return after a surprising shake-up, but the celebrity contestants and new hosts remain under wraps. Among the names rumoured to be in contention are former This Morning host Holly Willoughby and ITV presenter Alison Hammond. Radio host Zoe Ball revealed she auditioned but was rejected, describing the process as a grieving experience. Rylan Clark reportedly withdrew after a screen test, telling friends he would do pantomime instead. Other potential candidates include Fleur East, Angela Scanlon, and Sian Welby. Comedian Alan Carr dismissed speculation, saying he told producers not to consider him. TV couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey have been coy when asked. However, recent reports suggest Emma Willis, former Big Brother host, has been offered the job and is expected to accept. A source said: "Emma has been offered the Strictly job and is going to accept. She absolutely nailed the chemistry tests and the BBC adore her."
Other Possibilities
Alex Jones, longtime presenter of The One Show, is another popular choice. Could Anton Du Beke, who transitioned from professional dancer to judge, step into the presenting role? Drag queen La Voix, who left the competition early due to injury, joked about the job on Lorraine, referencing Tess's split from husband Vernon Kay. She quipped: "Just to stop the rumours, I'm not dating Vernon Kay but he does like a Strictly presenter so if I get the job he'll be all over me!"
