Reality TV star Spencer Pratt's prospects of winning the Los Angeles mayoral election have significantly improved nearly a week after a widely discussed debate performance against his progressive rivals. A growing number of celebrities, including fellow reality stars, actors, musicians, prominent podcasters, daughters of former respected politicians, and notably his wife Heidi Montag, have publicly endorsed the 42-year-old former star of The Hills.
This surge in support comes at an opportune moment, as Pratt has overtaken LA City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, who was previously considered the frontrunner, according to the regulated exchange and prediction market site Kalshi. As of Wednesday, the market gives Pratt a 33 percent chance of securing the mayoral office, compared to Raman's 11 percent, while incumbent Mayor Karen Bass currently leads with 54 percent.
Voters are just weeks away from casting their ballots on June 2, and Pratt appears to have timed his campaign blitz perfectly, with his odds more than doubling over the past month. At a debate on Wednesday night, Pratt was declared the winner over Bass and Raman by 79 percent of viewers polled by NBC, as his brash style earned widespread praise.
Pratt particularly dominated Raman, reducing her to a "random city council member" in a jibe that went viral on social media. He launched his campaign after becoming a vocal critic of Bass's tenure as mayor, especially after his $3.8 million family home burned down in the Palisades fire in January 2025. The aspiring politician said he would prefer to face only Raman in the election without Bass. "All the unions support Mayor Bass," he said. "You think it's easier to run against the incumbent mayor with all the unions, or a random city council member who has been a failure for six years?" Pratt accused Bass of mismanaging the response to the fires, which destroyed over 11,000 other structures and caused billions in damage. Although he registered as a Republican for the election, Pratt stated that his campaign is not centered on party affiliation, and he has also made fixing Los Angeles' issues with homelessness and drug use central to his candidacy.
Celebrity Endorsements for Spencer Pratt
Heidi Montag, Pratt's wife and fellow The Hills star, is an obvious supporter. The 38-year-old registered Republican has been married to Pratt since 2008, and they share two young sons: eight-year-old Gunner and three-year-old Ryker. Montag expressed her support in February, telling an LA Fox affiliate: "It made sense to me, and I'm very supportive of that, and he is the best man for the job. So I hope and I pray that he gets this opportunity. We'll see what God has planned."
Kristin Cavallari, who starred alongside Pratt on The Hills, has also backed her former castmate. Although the 39-year-old businesswoman resides in Tennessee and cannot vote for him, she voiced her belief in his candidacy on her podcast: "I think Spencer running for mayor is f***ing genius. Because I think everyone in politics—I don't care what side you're on—everyone is corrupt."
Audrina Patridge, another The Hills co-star, publicly supported Pratt. The 41-year-old model, who lives in Orange County, California, told Us Weekly: "He's very smart. He knew how to work reality TV. I know politics is very different—but I mean, he seems very intelligent and is well educated on what he needs to do."
Brody Jenner, also from The Hills, has been active in Pratt's Instagram comments. The 42-year-old son of Caitlyn Jenner and Linda Thompson wrote: "YOU HAVE MY VOTE!!! And every person I know. LEGEND." He also commented: "From The Hills to City Hall… the character arc we didn't know we needed."

Joe Rogan, the powerful podcaster and UFC commentator, had Pratt on his show and said: "I can't vote for you, but I'm rooting for you. If I lived in Los Angeles, no question whatsoever, I would vote for you."

After the debate, she praised him: "This is not hyperbole - @spencerpratt is the blueprint for how my generation of older millennials needs to communicate and present their ideas." Actress Selma Blair commented "Solid" on his post. DJ Diplo wrote "please" with a prayer hands emoji, while DJ Kaskade commented "Let's go!" on his announcement.
