Alan Shearer has named Bukayo Saka as his pick for England's best player at Euro 2024, praising the forward as a 'breath of fresh air' ahead of Sunday's final against Spain.
Saka has scored one goal and registered one assist during the tournament, including a superb equaliser in the quarter-final against Switzerland. Shearer told Betfair: 'Saka has been fantastic... he's a breath of fresh air and everyone loves him.'
Shearer also commended Kobbie Mainoo, Marc Guehi, John Stones, and Jordan Pickford for their contributions, but singled out Saka as his player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate has said it would be impossible to make a 'logical' decision on his future as England manager so close to the final, with his contract expiring in December.
