A new poll has delivered an awkward blow to Prince Edward, showing that British readers find his nephew, Prince Harry, more relatable than him.
The Daily Express launched a poll last week asking readers which member of the Royal Family they found most relatable. The poll ran from 7am on September 28 until 9.30am on October 1, gathering 2,149 votes in total.
Poll results
Only 13 people voted for Prince Edward, while 64 people voted for Prince Harry. This indicates that Brits taking part in the poll find Harry, who quit royal life in 2020 and has been controversial since, more relatable than his uncle.
This is likely to be a blow for Prince Edward, who, alongside his wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has been a hard-working member of the Royal Family for some time. The couple have especially stepped up in recent years since the number of working royals has decreased, with Edward and Sophie often representing the family at events in both the UK and abroad.
Other royals in the poll
However, while Harry may have topped Edward in this new poll, Edward still had more votes than other royals. This includes Meghan Markle, who was found by only seven people to be the most relatable, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
While Daily Express royal readers may not find Edward relatable, they do seem to find his wife, Sophie, more so. A total of 141 voters found the Duchess most relatable, ranking her fourth among the most relatable royal in the poll.
Princess Catherine ranks in first place, followed by Princess Anne and then Prince William.
