Megyn Kelly and Mark Levin Clash Over Rosary and 'Crackpot' Jibe at Conservative Event
Megyn Kelly and Mark Levin feud over rosary 'crackpot' remark

A public feud has erupted between prominent conservative media figures Megyn Kelly and Mark Levin, exposing deepening rifts within the movement following a major right-wing gathering in the United States.

The Spark: A Rosary and a 'Crackpot' Remark

The controversy began when Mark Levin, the 68-year-old host of Fox News's weekend programme Life, Liberty & Levin, took to social media platform X to attack fellow MAGA influencer Jack Posobiec. Levin, who is Jewish, labelled Posobiec a "crackpot" in a one-word post, criticising him for holding up a rosary on stage at the Turning Point USA AmericaFest event last Friday.

Kelly, who was sharing the stage with Posobiec at the time, swiftly came to his defence. "Off to go pray the beautiful rosary @JackPosobiec gave me, like virtually all Christians do, which doesn’t make us 'crackpots' no matter what some old, angry anti-Christian nut on weekend Fox says," she wrote on X this past Wednesday. She added a pointed jab at Levin's career: "Never could get himself into the prime time. Sad!"

Escalation and Accusations Fly

Levin fired back later that night, promising to address the matter fully on his radio show. "It’s not possible to keep up with the Woke Reich psychos and groyper-bigots like Megyn Kelly on social media," he wrote. The conflict intensified as Levin agreed with a post calling Kelly a 'click wh*re' and 'not conservative', and suggested she "needs a psychiatrist."

He then redirected his criticism towards Posobiec, accusing him of having a "long Record of Woke Reichism." Levin shared a clip of fitness podcaster Myron Gaines shouting antisemitic insults at a Jewish woman outside the Phoenix event, noting that Posobiec and Gaines were photographed together smiling. "This is why Hack Jack is widely condemned. NOT because of his faith," Levin asserted. "He still hasn’t condemned his comrade."

Levin concluded by grouping Kelly with Posobiec and commentator Candace Owens, calling them "very sinister grifters."

Broader Conservative Movement Fractures

This fiery exchange is the latest instance of infighting among major conservative voices after a chaotic four days at AmericaFest. The event featured other prominent speakers like Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson, who also openly clashed.

On the first day, Shapiro warned that "the conservative movement is in serious danger" from "grifters" and "charlatans," indirectly criticising figures like Carlson and Stephen Bannon for their stance on Candace Owens's anti-Israel rhetoric. He explicitly included Kelly, whom he called a friend, in his critique.

Kelly responded with ire, stating on X: "Only cowards take to the national stage or X to attack their 'friends' without so much as a phone call to discuss it." During her on-stage conversation with Posobiec on Friday, she declared, "I don’t think we are friends anymore," and recounted how she helped elevate Shapiro's profile early in his career.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Kelly argued that Shapiro and other staunchly pro-Israel personalities were alienating conservatives. "Why would you divide the American conservative movement... over Israel?" she asked, noting Shapiro is "Israel first." She also highlighted her own independence, referencing her refusal to participate in certain symbolic acts during the Black Lives Matter protests.

Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News host who left in 2017 for a brief stint at NBC, now hosts a popular SiriusXM show as an independent journalist. The public spat underscores the significant ideological and personal fractures currently defining the American right.
