GB News guest Matthew Laza walked off the set after clashing with host Nana Akua during Thursday's programme, as the pair debated the UK's "economic turmoil" and borrowing costs.
Heated exchange over Brexit
The conversation turned tense when Matthew, a former Labour adviser, said of Brexit's impact: "We all respected the democratic vote, and it's proved a disaster."
Nana replied: "The reason I wanted to leave was because of sovereignty, not how much money was on the side of a bus, which I didn't really believe or care about," referring to Reform's campaign bus, which declared that the UK paid £350 million weekly to Brussels.
Interruptions and walkout
"Ok, but they put it on the side… Nana, let me finish, please!" Matthew said, raising his voice. "No!" she fired back.
"I'm going to, Nana. Ok, I'm going to keep talking, so either we can have a polite conversation," he fumed. Frustrated with his interruptions, Nana sidestepped him. "You've done your bit," she told him, before handing over to another panel guest, Lord Bailey.
Viewer reactions
"I'm not being spoken to like that," Matthew declared. "Ok, fine, what are you going to do about it?" Nana quipped. "Leave!" he exclaimed. "Well, do what you want, but it's somebody else's go," she replied. "You've had plenty of time."
As Lord Bailey shared his view, Matthew walked off the set, slamming a door behind him. Following the segment, viewers responded on X. "I thought Nana handled that really well. Nana is chairing the debate; she moved the conversation on. That should have been the end of it. I like Matthew, but that was out of order," tweeted one. "Laza used to be mild-mannered - what has happened to make him so rude and aggressive?" replied a second. A third remarked: "Hilarious, he flounced off, and the others just carried on as if they hadn't noticed. Unfortunately, he came back 45 mins later." A fourth wrote: "What an absolute child. Love the feet stomping and door slamming. Infantile."
