Farage Jokes About Deporting Meghan Markle if PM

Nigel Farage has joked that he might consider deporting Meghan Markle if he becomes prime minister. The Reform UK leader made the remarks during an appearance on The Benny Show, discussing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who returned to the UK at the end of August.

Meghan, 45, and Prince Harry, 42, are now residing in the Cotswolds with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Their return came six years after they stepped down as working royals and relocated to the US.

Farage Criticises Sussexes' Behaviour

Farage described the couple's behaviour in recent years as an "absolute disgrace", but said he now feels sorry for Harry, whom he believes made a "bad life choice" by marrying Meghan. "The behaviour of Meghan and Harry has been an absolute disgrace. Now they're back in the UK living here for who knows how long, and somehow, I can't help it, I almost now begin to feel a bit sorry for Harry because it's the classic tale of the weak man and the strong woman," he said.

"Shakespeare was on this, the bible was on this! There's nothing new in this, it's a classic tale," the politician laughed. "Harry, his service in Afghanistan, his cheekiness, his loving for a party, lot's of pretty girlfriends."

Farage added: "He was the most popular royal for 100 years. People loved him! And there he is now with Meghan. I think he's made a bad life choice. I can't wish him ill because we all get things wrong from time to time. I hope he sorts it out."

Presenter Pleads Against Deportation

Presenter Benny Johnson then begged Farage, "as a friend", to not deport Meghan back to the US. "Our independence from Meghan Markle is actually wonderful," the podcast host remarked. Farage laughed: "You might get her back. You might get her back if I'm in charge."

Reports have suggested that the Sussexes could be considering a move back to the US if their taxpayer-funded security is not reinstated. While Harry recently said it was "great to be back on British soil", questions remain over whether the couple intend to stay in the UK long-term. This has been fuelled by the fact the couple have "no plans" to sell their Montecito mansion, suggesting they could return to the US for an extended period of time.

Photographers Slammed Outside School

It comes as a spokesperson for the Sussexes slammed the "extraordinarily reckless" international photographers who were spotted lurking outside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's school. The two men, who were wearing backpacks, appeared to be scouting out the area for several hours before driving away in a white van.

A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said: "The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless. There is a world of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking the perimeter of a school, stopping to look into the grounds and monitoring children as they go about their day."

"It is concerning enough that certain European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school. But to behave in this manner in these particular circumstances, and so soon after the incident at RAF Fairford, demonstrates an extraordinary lack of judgment."

"Whatever photographs they may have been seeking, this was not only an unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children; it was an irresponsible and ill-considered way to conduct themselves in the vicinity of a school."

Since Harry and Meghan returned to the UK, the British press have been abiding by a request from the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) not to identify the children's school or the family home. However, this does not apply to photographers from foreign outlets.
