Drew Carey Blasts LA Mayoral Candidate Spencer Pratt in Expletive-Filled Rant
Drew Carey Eviscerates Spencer Pratt in Rant Over LA Mayoral Bid

Drew Carey has eviscerated Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt and his supporters in an unsavory social media rant. Pratt, 42, best known for playing the villain on the reality series The Hills alongside his wife Heidi Montag, announced his bid for LA mayor in January. He is campaigning on a platform aimed at taking down “California’s entrenched political establishment,” which he blames for the devastation of his Pacific Palisades neighborhood and surrounding areas during the 2025 LA wildfires.

In a recent Threads post, Carey, 68, advised against voting for the reality star, telling anyone who plans to do so to “get their head out of their ass.”

“I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” the Price is Right host added. “F*** this guy already.”

The Independent has contacted Pratt’s representative for comment.

Pratt is one of 12 candidates challenging incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the 2026 LA mayoral election. The primaries will be held June 2, with the top two vote-getters, regardless of party, moving on to the November general election. However, should a candidate receive more than 50 percent of the votes in the primaries, they will win the office outright. So far, polls suggest that Bass is leading the race, followed closely by Nithya Raman and Pratt.

Pratt is running as an independent, despite being a registered Republican. He previously explained his decision on a January episode of The View, saying, “This is not a partisan race.”

“I’m not a political person. If you go back, I was never posting about any politics for the last 20 years,” he admitted. “But when they burn your house down, and you start looking at the people that I paid my taxes to, and they fail at such a level, we need to be honest and have the truth and transparency.”

“And if you keep lying on these things, nothing’s going to change,” he said. “So everything I believe in is common sense. I’m not running on anything that my neighbours don’t agree with — and when I say neighbours, I mean all of Los Angeles.”

He first announced his candidacy for LA mayor in January at a “They Let Us Burn” rally in the Palisades Village.

“Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action. That’s why I am running for mayor,” Pratt declared. “And let me be clear, this just isn’t a campaign, this is a mission, and we are going to expose the system. We are going into every dark corner of LA politics and disinfecting this city with our light. And when we are done, LA is going to be camera-ready again.”
