Burnham rules out Green deals after Zionism motion

Andy Burnham has ruled out Labour doing any deals with the Green party, condemning its recently adopted motion declaring “Zionism is racism” as “antisemitic”.

Response to Conservative question

The response came after Conservative MP Harriett Baldwin asked Burnham to rule out any partnerships with the Greens in light of the motion.

Burnham replied: “Can I condemn the motion that was passed unequivocally? It is wrong. It is antisemitic, and this side of the house will have nothing to do with it.”

No partnership with Greens

He added: “And we will always take the right response when it comes to any partnerships we have with other parties. We cannot support a partnership with a party that holds [the] position that has recently been adopted.”
