Liverpool are facing a significant summer transfer window as they prepare for the departure of Mohamed Salah, with former striker Michael Owen suggesting West Ham's Jarrod Bowen as a potential replacement. Speaking on talkSPORT, Owen praised Bowen's ability, calling him a 'brilliant player' who could fit in at Anfield if West Ham were relegated. Owen highlighted Bowen's finishing, pace, and versatility as key attributes.
John Aldridge echoed Owen's sentiments, telling Boyle Sports that Bowen has impressed him for years and would be a suitable successor to Salah. Bowen, 29, joined West Ham in January 2020 and is under contract until 2030, but a relegation clause could make him available.
Meanwhile, Liverpool may use captain Virgil van Dijk to help secure Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries. The Telegraph reports that Dumfries, a close friend of Van Dijk, has a release clause in his contract. The Reds have long been interested in the Dutch international, who could provide cover on the right flank, an area hit by injuries to Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong.
Dumfries, 30, has struggled with injuries this season but Inter are reportedly seeking replacements, potentially facilitating his exit. Liverpool's transfer budget will be boosted if they secure a top-five finish, with Salah's replacement and defensive reinforcements high on the agenda.
