Thomas Markle Jr, the half-brother of Meghan Markle, has taken a television crew on an exclusive tour of their childhood haunts in Los Angeles, hoping to inspire a family reunion. The 52-year-old glass maker from Oregon said he was encouraged by a recent DailyMailTV exclusive that suggested the Duchess of Sussex is open to reconciliation after the birth of her first child.
Markle Jr showed the crew around four locations that held special memories for the family in the 1980s, including their Woodland Hills home, Will Rogers Beach, Los Encinos State Historic Park, and Serrania Park. He described a childhood filled with 'a lot of warmth, a lot of love, happy feelings' and expressed hope that Meghan would see the tour and feel the same.
Standing outside the family home where Meghan grew up, Markle Jr recalled a tight-knit family unit. He said the house was the scene of 'great' Christmases and Thanksgivings, with Doria Ragland's family often joining them. He described Meghan as having been 'spoiled rotten' by her parents, with a bedroom that 'looked like Toys R Us'.
Markle Jr emphasised the importance of family, saying, 'No matter how much it has spread out now, no matter how people have gone their separate ways, it was a family unit here and it was good times and memories.' He added, 'There is no wrong time to make amends and bring everybody back together for holidays and family reunion visits.'
The tour comes after nearly two years of turmoil in the Markle family, with Thomas Markle Sr having been estranged from his daughter since before her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
