Progressive Lawyer Dismissed After Voicing Concerns Over Child Gender Treatments

Glenna Goldis, a lesbian public-interest lawyer, has revealed she was terminated from the New York Attorney General's office after raising objections to paediatric gender medicine procedures for children. The attorney, who worked in the consumer frauds bureau, was fired on January 22nd following accusations of engaging in what officials termed 'disruptive public speech'.

Clash Over Medical Interventions for Minors

Goldis stated that superiors warned her repeatedly that continuing to share views opposing Attorney General Letitia James's staunch support for paediatric gender medicine would result in termination. 'I tried to explain to NYAG officials that PGM, by its nature, targets children who defy sexed norms - whom studies show are more likely to be gay when they grow up,' Goldis wrote in a social media post highlighting what she described as hypocrisies in James's position.

The attorney said her concerns developed after hearing a lesbian detransitioner describe disturbing side effects from gender transition procedures, including vaginal atrophy from testosterone and nerve damage from double mastectomy surgery. Goldis emphasised that paediatric gender medicine can reportedly lead to:

  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Chronic genital pain
  • Incontinence
  • Other significant side effects

Legal and Political Context of the Dispute

The dismissal occurred against a backdrop of national political developments regarding gender-affirming care for minors. Attorney General James was part of a coalition of thirteen attorneys general who, in February, criticised a January 28th executive order stating the US would no longer 'fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called transition of a child from one sex to another'.

Goldis claimed that agency attorneys struggled to explain why her blogs, essays, and public speaking events were considered problematic. When pressed, officials reportedly pointed to a single line from her blog referencing the US v. Skrmetti case, which she stated 'bans PGM and is not considered discriminatory by the court' - a position she said contradicted James's legal stance.

Workplace Culture and Alleged Intimidation

According to Goldis, the Attorney General's pro-paediatric gender medicine position was echoed throughout the office environment. She described an incident where a colleague allegedly labelled girls who oppose biological males in women's sports as 'anti-trans'. When Goldis attempted to discuss this claim and present information about boys winning state titles in girls' sports, she was threatened with an HR complaint.

'If you say one more word on this subject, I'm calling HR,' Goldis recalled her coworker saying. She noted that despite her firing, she was honoured to work in the consumer fraud bureau but disputed the characterisation of her actions as disruptive public speech.

Broader Implications and Future Actions

Goldis expressed frustration that no one in authority at the New York Attorney General's office showed interest in her concerns that paediatric gender medicine might have homophobic implications. She argued that if the Attorney General truly cared about LGBTQ youth, research into gender-related drugs and their risks would be prioritised.

'I haven't disrupted the Democratic elite's commitment to PGM providers, but I'm just getting started,' Goldis wrote following her dismissal. The Daily Mail has contacted Attorney General Letitia James's office for comment regarding these allegations.
