Former members of the enigmatic Christian Jesus Army have come forward with startling accounts of life inside the controversial religious group, revealing decades of enforced celibacy and strict behavioural codes.
The organisation, which operated for years under a veil of secrecy, imposed rigid rules on its followers—demanding absolute obedience, isolation from outsiders, and a lifetime commitment to celibacy.
Life Inside the Sect
One ex-member described the group as "a spiritual prison", where personal freedoms were stripped away in the name of devotion. "We were told that relationships outside the group were sinful, and even friendships were monitored," they revealed.
Another former follower recounted how the leaders enforced celibacy as a "sacred duty", forbidding romantic relationships and even discouraging close familial bonds.
The Psychological Toll
Experts warn that such extreme control mechanisms can leave deep psychological scars. "Isolation and suppression of natural human instincts can lead to long-term emotional damage," said a psychologist familiar with cult dynamics.
