Two Jewish men are in hospital after being stabbed in an apparent antisemitic attack in north London. The victims, one aged in his 70s and the other in his 30s, are reported to be in a stable condition.

Details of the Attack

The incident occurred shortly after 11am on Wednesday in Highfield Avenue, Golders Green. According to the Jewish security group Shomrim, a man was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish members of the public.

The suspect, a 45-year-old man, tried to stab police officers when he was stopped. He was tasered before being arrested.

Witness Accounts and Footage

Unverified footage posted on social media shows an older man putting on a kippah as he waits at a bus stop, before the attacker lunges at him. Police officers were called to the scene, and the area was cordoned off.

Shomrim praised the quick response of the police and urged the community to remain vigilant. The incident is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime.

Detectives are investigating the motive and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
