Disturbing new details have emerged from US court documents, painting a terrifying picture of an alleged attempted murder involving the father of NBA sensation Victor Wembanyama.
Félix Wembanyama, 51, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder following a violent altercation that began over a seemingly minor parking disagreement in the United States.
A Dispute Turns Deadly
According to official reports, the incident erupted when the victim, a neighbour, allegedly confronted Félix about his parking spot being blocked. What began as a verbal argument quickly spiralled into extreme violence.
The legal filing states that Félix is accused of repeatedly striking the man in the head with a metal bar before the confrontation moved inside a property. There, he is alleged to have continued the assault, strangling the victim until he lost consciousness.
Harrowing Aftermath and Legal Proceedings
The victim was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries. Meanwhile, Félix Wembanyama was apprehended and booked into the Chesapeake City Jail. He was later released on a $15,000 bond, with a preliminary court hearing scheduled for later this month.
This shocking event casts a long shadow over his son, Victor, the French phenom and number one draft pick for the San Antonio Spurs, who is currently preparing for his second highly anticipated NBA season.
The case continues to develop as the legal process unfolds, leaving the sports world in a state of disbelief.
