Kendra Duggar Arrested on Child Abuse Charges in Arkansas

Kendra Duggar, the wife of reality TV personality Joseph Duggar, has been arrested in Arkansas on misdemeanor child abuse charges. The Washington County sheriff's office confirmed that she faces four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree false imprisonment. A hearing is scheduled for Monday.

The arrest comes days after her husband, Joseph Duggar, was charged in Florida with lewd and lascivious behavior against a child under 12. According to an arrest affidavit, Joseph admitted to inappropriately touching a nine-year-old girl during a family trip to Panama City Beach, stating his “intentions were not pure.”

Authorities have stated that the charges against Kendra are unrelated to those faced by her husband. Joseph, 31, is the seventh-oldest of the Duggar family's 19 children, who were the focus of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting. The show was canceled in 2015 after eldest son Joshua faced molestation allegations; he is currently imprisoned for possessing child sex abuse images.
