Japan's 'Otaku Murderer' Ate Victims' Hands in Gruesome Spree

Tsutomu Miyazaki, known as Japan's 'Otaku Murderer', committed a series of horrific crimes against young girls in the late 1980s. His acts included necrophilia, cannibalism, and dismemberment, shocking the nation.

Miyazaki's first victim was four-year-old Mari Konno, whom he kidnapped, strangled, and sexually abused. He later sent her parents a parcel containing her ashes, teeth, and a photo of her missing outfit with a taunting note.

He went on to kill three more girls: seven-year-old Masami Yoshizawa, Erika Namba, and five-year-old Ayako Nomoto. With Nomoto, he sexually violated her body over two days, dismembered her, and ate her hands.

Miyazaki was arrested in 1989 after a father confronted him for photographing his daughter nude. Police found thousands of videos and photos of his victims in his apartment.

During his trial, Miyazaki claimed an alter ego called 'the Rat Man' made him kill and pleaded insanity. The court rejected this, and he was executed by hanging in 2008 at age 45.
