An Irish missionary has been kidnapped from an orphanage in Haiti, as violent gangs continue to terrorise the Caribbean nation. The abduction has left staff and children at the facility in a state of shock and fear.
The nun, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was reportedly taken by armed men from the orphanage where she worked. Local authorities are investigating the incident, but no demands have been made public so far.

Staff at the orphanage described the moment armed men stormed the premises, taking the nun by force. "We are terrified for her safety," one worker said. "The children are traumatised."
